Key Activities
The Nepal Emergency Health Project has six different areas it will focus its efforts on in order to fulfill its mission and realize its vision. These areas are:
Training - This will involve training health clinic/post staff in the latest emergency medical methods, as well as, training first responders and ambulance drivers.
Assessments This will involve conducting needs and readiness assessments of health clinics/posts to gain a better understanding of the existing gaps and where ICRI can have the most impact.
NetworkingBuilding relationships with stakeholders is a key component of success for this program. Developing strong relationships on the ground will allow ICRI to effectively implement and expand its programs throughout each community in need.
Capacity Building - This will involve building up the capabilities of local health clinics/posts in responding to emergency health situations by ensuring that the staff is properly trained, that the clinic has all the appropriate medical supplies and equipment it needs, and if they wish to establish a first responder and ambulance system, helping them to do so.
AdvocacyThis will involve taking lessons learned and best practices and advocating for well-defined and established national standards of emergency medical training and response in Nepal.
Continuous Learning This will involve capturing what ICRI is doing and learning on the ground in order to monitor and evaluate its programs and use this knowledge to continue to find the best ways to work hand-in-hand with the people of Kathmandu.
